Our 10 N$ Campaign

The Orphan Situation

According to different sources, Namibia has between 200,000 and 230,000 OVC, of whom between 110,000 to 141,000 are orphans. This represents about 28 % of all children under the age of 18. These children remain to be one of the most vulnerable groups of the Namibian population. They are often neglected, abused, used, molested and their inheritance grabbed with no compensation. Often, these children are left to be cared for by neighbors, grand parents, aunts and uncles who they themselves have limited financial and support structures in place.  The need for increased intervention and support is therefore becoming increasingly necessary.

The N$10 Campaign

CAFO has developed this initiative where each able Namibian contribute a minimum of N$10.00 per month through a debit order payment system. CAFO will then collect these funds and use it to further support orphans and the organizations that support the orphans. In achieving this endeavor, CAFO appeals to the Namibian nation, male or female, student or adult, young or old, working or self employed, to open their arms of generosity and give to a worthy cause that will in return benefit the nation and everyone in it. These orphans are tomorrow’s Ministers, business leaders and servants of Namibians.

Why the N$10 Campaign?

CAFO receives deal funding from International Donors such as United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Family Health International (FHI), Stephen Lewis Foundation, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), American Jewish World Service, New Zealand AID and Global Fund to name but a few.The N$10 Campaign can make CAFO more sustainable, less dependant on outside help and involves the entire Namibian community in caring for its orphans hence creating a nation of strong civilization.
