WELCOME TO CAFO

The Church Alliance for Orphans (CAFO) is Namibia's national interfaith networking organization that is affiliated with the Council of Churches in Namibia (CCN). CAFO is devoted to serving the needs of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) by strengthening, empowering and encouraging local churches and other faith-based organizations in Namibia to provide holistic care to needy OVC, so that they may develop resilience and ability to cope with challenges ahead.

• Awareness and Fundraising: In June 2010, CAFO in partnership with MGECW organized a Charity Walk in Commemoration of the Day of the African Child
• Capacity Building: CAFO trained over 200 volunteers in the last quarter
• The Donor Section: In June 2010, CAFO together with the USAID as well as the Centre for International Health (CIH) officially unveiled four containers of food packages
• Good bye’s: In the last weeks, CAFO had to say good bye to BOT member Dr Lucy Y Steinitz and international volunteer Peter Venetz
• The OVC and Volunteers Corner: Once again, the Newsletter serves as a platform to have voices heard from grass root level
